Born To Be A Leader: The Most Dominant Zodiac Sign

on August 19, 2019

Leo’s are stubborn but with taste. They rarely ever think twice about a decision they are going to make because they trust their gut. This applies to getting dressed; they are not one to run out and get the latest trend. Leo’s are known for their headstrong and fiery personalities — I mean, they are a fire sign after all. Their animal is also the Lion, so they are very dominant and brave when making choices. Leo’s are super independent and ooze confidence within themselves and in others. However, they enjoy attention and thrive off of others knowing how great they are. With this being said, Leo’s make a great friend. They are realistic and super difficult to dislike. They forgive easily, rarely hold grudges, love being in control, and dislike boring routines of day-to-day practices. Their fashion style mirrors their personality.

1. Leo’s Soft Lemon Look

With style and fashion, Leo’s love being noticed. They always clear the path to making a statement and make heads turn as they strut by. They love designer pieces and rarely leave the house without them. Flashy, glamorous, and boldness is the idea they’re going for. Bright and bold warm colors are a Leo’s best friend, and with fashion they make sure they can incorporate these to match their roaring personality.

2. The Layered Leo

Leo’s – like most signs – love to layer their pieces together. The texture and polished look of incorporating multiple pieces make them stand out. Even though they are a fire sign and are born in the summer, most love the opportunity to style in fall layers. With the transitional season approaching, Leo’s will always be prepared for colored leaves, brisk wind, and layered articles.

3. Let’s Get Down to Business

Leo is great at expressing their mood of the day through their fashion. They tend to dress in a style that represents their current feelings and emotions. Although at work they keep their style professional, they still add a bold accessory piece to spice up the look.

4. Night Out

This is where Leo’s express their wild and bright side of fashion the most. They naturally love to party and go out to unwind. They enjoy colors that are dramatic like red, gold, and black and they’re always on the prowl for a good time. Nighttime is where Leo is most comfortable, especially when they are spending time out on the town. They love to dance and visit the trendiest clubs, but only with the perfect outfit.

5. Lap Pool Oasis

Leo’s were born in the peak of summer so they love to spend time at the beach or by the pool. They love to lay out and relax, catch a tan, and sip cocktails by the oasis. They dress up for this occasion despite it being a lounge and rejuvenation session for them. I mean, Leo’s have to go all in or nothing.

The Confidential Cancer: This Month’s Picks for the Most In-Tune Sign

on July 22, 2019

You may not notice it, but your personality traits run very in-tune to how you dress and what your fashion sense is. In fact, the connection between the two are very strong, that you can put your best foot forward with dressing your part. Cancers are very hard to read because of the fact that they are so reserved. Similar to their opposite spectrum sign, the Capricorn, they have a hard outer shell which resonates to their symbol: The Crab. They have a hard exterior, but when they are pushed to the extreme, their true colors are inside. Their outer shell is a way that Cancers protect their feelings before fully opening up. Cancers tend to be calm and at peace, but their inner feelings are shown once that is broken. You may never know what a cancer is thinking because they are so unpredictable. Due to all of these personality traits, Cancers get the misinterpretation that they are very emotional. They often have a strong sense of empathy which can lead to them having a lot of layers.

1. Mood of the Day

Typically, Cancers are very in-tune with their feelings and how the day brings them. Cancers are unpredictable, which means they are unpredictable with their outfits and style. Their styles may change one day based on what is happening internally for them. Cancers enjoy pieces that have meaning to them or that are sentimental. They also enjoy vintage pieces that have value. Cancers wear their emotions on their sleeve, so they will most likely do the same with their outfits. If they’re feeling down, they might wear blue. If they’re wearing orange, they might feel peachy. Above are some examples of colored pieces based on a Cancer’s mood:

2. Perfect Pastels for Everyday

Each sign has a color spectrum, and for Cancers, they love pastels. Cancers also thrive for comfortability. They tend to reach for clothing that are made of natural fibers such as cotton and wool. If Cancers could wear pajamas all day, they would. Below are picks that could go for the comfortability of a Cancer:

3. Night Out

Cancers are homebodies (like most of us) and love their pj’s, however they also love going out to unwind. When they do, they unleash a wilder side to them that many people don’t get to see. Cancers love to dress casually in a summer dress, blazer, or a set of heels. Again, they will veer towards a more colorful palette as opposed to the cliche all-black wear.

4. Date Night

Cancers enjoy romance and getting to know people on a more intimate level. They love getting dressed up for a passionate evening with an array of emotion. Cancers are flirty and playful, so when they get in this mood, their style is matched. Cancers are also very loving, so they will get into different prints, patterns, and even darker hues for the amorous vibes:

Summer Must-Have Trends

on July 10, 2019

Summer is at its peak and so is the fashion that falls behind the hot weather. We have been on the hunt for the most popular trends that have been circulating this season and we have found them. We have similar styles here at Fashom that you can easily try out in your own box. These styles are perfect for ALL body types and look amazing on everyone. Read below for a quick little recap on what trends are skyrocketing this summer:

1. Palazzo Pants

The ultimate summer bottoms… next to shorts. Slouchy trousers are super comfortable. You can dress them up for work, wear them to a party, and even stroll on the boardwalk in these. They’re super versatile and are the best cover ups for the warmer seasons. Palazzo pants give you room to breathe and are not restricting at all.

2. Maxi Dresses

The maxi dress. It’s the staple piece for the summer and almost everyone needs to have one in their wardrobe. It’s aerated, gives you room to grow, and is super stylish for all occasions. For the summertime, you need something versatile and the maxi dress is that option.

3. Bucket Hats

Seemingly and surprisingly, the bucket hat is making a comeback. What used to be known as the “fisherman’s” hat is now branching off into the fashion world. Bucket hats have been the reigning supreme in accessories for this summer and it is an ultimate must-have to complete your summer look.

4. 80’s Flare

Similar to the 90’s making an appearance in 2019, the 80’s are also pulling through. It’s not necessarily the baggy pants or loose fitted blouses, but just the colors and silhouettes in general have been super popular. Tucking your shirt into your pants and pulling off complimentary and primary colors in one outfit has been super popular. Also, denim on denim as well as mini skirts/dresses are creeping their way through this summer. Wearing different shades of denim all throughout your outfit is a great way to blend the 80’s into your style. As for mini skirts and dresses, the shorter the better. During the summer it gets blazing hot, so women have been getting away with bringing “mini’s” back.

5. Knit Tank

The ultimate summer style is boho. Crochet pants, knit tops, and kimonos have always been making appearances through the summertime. Knit tops are a must have and they work perfectly for all body types. Pair them with palazzo pants, a bucket hat, and a pineapple and you’re good to go!

These fit perfectly for any size. They cover what need to be covered and give you so much room to breathe. Palazzo pants are super popular for the spring and summer seasons because they are so stylish while maintaining comfortability.

These will always be a trend. Boyfriend jeans add shape to your body and keep your outfit casual. They are breathable and the go-to jean for your spring and summer wardrobe. It’s Taurus Season: This Months Picks for the Tough Bull Sign

on April 29, 2019

It’s time for another zodiac re-cap for this month’s picks. It’s officially Taurus season. Taurus’s are very independent, hard-headed, and persistent. They often lead a mysterious trail behind them to those they interact with. They are well-grounded, as they are an Earth Sign. As their sign is represented by a bull, they resemble the toughness and hard outer shell that bulls have in nature. Taurus’s have a deep fashion sense. As they are not leader’s in this case, they are also not followers. They often create their own trends and stick to their own liking; not necessarily following fads or something that is “in.” They are very particular with their fashion pieces and have heads turning when they strut by – always making a statement. They have a classic fashion sense, and love playing around with sophistication. They are super detailed in their looks and never leave the house without looking polished. There will always be accessories to top off the look whenever they leave the house. Fierce, hard to please, and determined, here is this months picks for the tough bull:

1. Overall Taurus Statement

Taurus women tend to lean towards earth tones and neutral shades, however they are open to color and pastels. They are more likely to wear muted and darker looks than lighter, however. They are all about the quality and classicness of the style. They enjoy fine details, especially when it comes to accessories. As the fashion industry changes, Taurus’s tend to stick to their own branded style and go with the flow – not following the industry’s rules. Going out of their way to make their own impressional statement is how they roll.

2. Everyday

A Taurus almost always wears a tailored and well fitted outfit. Taurus’s are tough guys, which usually drives them to the persona of wearing mostly black, but they can be seen in denim ripped jeans, a white blouse, or leather belt, and a great pair of shoes. Although they love a good bargain, it’s primarily about the quality of the material. A Taurus is always polished and dressed to perfection for themselves. It’s unusual for a Taurus to leave the house and not be put together from head to toe.

3. Night Owls

A Taurus is a night owl and will prowl until the early mornings of the next day. Their night attire is always spot on for the specific occasion. Whether it be a date, a night out with their friends, or a night for themselves, they will most likely be the most daring they could possibly be at this time. The nighttime is where they manage to look their best and will put on a statement.

4. Vacation Nation

Taurus’s are very hard-workers and get to earn their rewards and achievements from vacationing frequently. These signs are very detailed oriented and it shows with their fashion. They love to accessorize and bring detail to their neck. Oftentimes, they wear scarves and necklaces to bring attention to that area. As for a vacation day by the pool or beach, Taurus’s don’t fail to still make a detailed statement while they’re away.

Coachella Rewind: What You Missed at the Festival of the Year

on April 22, 2019

Coachella, Coachella, Coachella. Seems like every year there’s an internal fashion competition on who can out-dress one another. We may not be there, but we sure can dress like we are. Each year there’s new trends that peak the attention of the crowd while remaining loyal to the roots and culture of the 60’s when festivals skyrocketed. This year, boundaries were broken and hypnotic styles stole the show. Here is what you (and us) have missed at Coachella:

1. Chainmail is Back

Chainmail was originally used during the ancient times for wars and armor to protect the body. Recently, it has become a trend on runways and through these recent years in the fashion world to bring this trend back in a stylish way. At Coachella, we recognized that many men and women wore chain-linked accessories or attire all over their body this year. This is the first time it’s been seen at Coachella, but not the first time it’s been seen since the Medieval Years. This look is sturdy, structured, and eclectic, to say the least. Above are some images from this year’s biggest festival of chainmail looks.

2. Fringe

We think the first outfit or trend that comes to mind when you speak the words of, “Coachella,” is fringe. Fringe has always been a necessity for music festivals. It brings back the roots of where festivals all started back in the 1960’s. It’s a super bohemian and thrill seeking look to wear for these occasions. Fringe has been around and will always remain because it never dies out. Fringe brings out a super California desert vibe to an outfit while maintaining its youthfulness. Fringe kimonos, bags, shirts, shorts, skirts, and shoes have been found at this years festival.

3. Psychedelic Color (tie dye and neon)

The 60’s is where the psychedelic and trippy era started. When Woodstock was a hit, it jumpstarted the festival movement with bright colors of neon and tie-dye. Lime green neon and tie-dye have been a comeback with the start of this year, but when Coachella approached we saw an array of vibrant neon colors and meshed tie-dye looks. It also wasn’t just in the accessories or apparel, men and women dyed their hair to a bolting color as well.

4. Western

The desert reflects on dry and rustic tones, adobe built homes, and aesthetically pleasing cacti. This year we saw a lot of that replicated in the fashion that attended the festival. Flat top hats, denim biker vests, and cowboy boots was the majority of the ensemble that was showcased this year. A little bit of that Southern flare was replicated at Coachella and the results were enjoyable to say the least. You can find hints of Joshua Tree or Yucca Valley imprinted on some of the styles as inspiration.

5. 60’s Crochet

Not only is crochet one of spring’s top trends, it’s a festival staple that never gets old. There has always been a crochet moment at Coachella, but this year there was a little 60’s spin on it. Meshed patterns of florals and kimonos exceeding the ankles were just one of the many ways this look has been forecasted.

What You Need in Your Spring 2019 Wardrobe

on April 15, 2019

Spring is in its peak and it’s time to talk what essentials you need in your spring wardrobe. As the weather begins to get bipolar, it’s hard to correlate what is needed in your closet. And, as the season is slowly beginning to get hotter, we have some pieces that we think can help with the comfortability people seek in the sun. As of Spring 2019, these are the trends and must-haves that belong in your closet for comfortability, longevity, and chicness.

1. T-Shirt Dresses

Long, comfy, and chic, T-shirt dresses are so uncomplicated to pull over and style. The design is loose and make getting dressed effortless and easy. A T-shirt dress is super versatile and can be styled in so many different ways. You can wear flats, sneakers, heels – any type of shoe, really. You pair it with a blazer, denim jacket, cardigan, kimono, wool coat – you cannot go wrong with a T-shirt dress. It’s a must-have for spring and it can be layered as well. With a staple piece this simple, flattery is even more crucial. It works for all body types, hides what needs to be hidden, and accentuates what you want to flaunt. At FASHOM, we have so many different types of t-shirt dresses ranging in all different sizes, such as our Papermoon Lucie Striped Lace-Up Dress and our Crescent Lillian Plaid Dress. Both lay so nicely on the body and give you room to grow.

2. Oversized Blazers

I know what you’re thinking: oversized blazers are messy and unprofessional. However, this blazer is not a statement piece for work, but for nights out and casual weekends. It is chic and breathable as well as perfect for creating an eclectic silhouette. It has become a recent trend in the spring time to wear a loosely fitted and oversized blazer with shorts, flats, and a funky hat. It’s masculine and strong all in one, and makes up for a quick on-the-go must-have layered piece for your wardrobe. Our Naked Zebra Drop Shoulder Blazer is perfect for this oversized look.

3. Embroidery/Boho

It seems like this trend will always be timeless for the warmer seasons. Crochet detailing and embroidered boho accents will always be “in” and each spring and summer season, this trend keeps proving it to us that it will make a return. Boho is such a laid back and relaxed look that feeds a natural 60’s hippie vibe from the roots of it all. It’s a mix of vintage and floral collections that make you feel natural and close to the mother earth. Embroidery and crochet blends perfectly with bohemian styles with a beachy-esc. No wonder there hasn’t been a loss of touch from boho; it’s been around since the 60’s. At FASHOM, ask your stylist for bohemian kimonos and crochet-detailed pieces.

4. Loose Trousers

The flare leg made a comeback for the past two years, but in 2019 the loose fitted trousers are making a sneaky appearance this spring. They are called loose trousers for a reason: they fit loosely, don’t tug on the parts of the body you wish to hide, and hugs the right places. They are super aerated and leave room to breathe. If you find the right pair, you can definitely wear them to work and spunk up your outfit. For those bipolar seasons filled with cool chills in the mornings and hotter breezes in the afternoon, these are a must-have for your spring wardrobe. We have such similar picks at FASHOM, such as our Blu Pepper Button Detailed Side Open Pants and Blu Pepper Overwrap Stripe Pants.

5. Mini Skirts

The 90’s mini skirt; we loved her. Now, it has never been more desired than ever. They’re scandalous, sensual, and flirty. It’s been quite a while since you’ve been able to flaunt your legs; the past few months have consisted of leggings, jeans, and joggers. With spring approaching in full swing, we need to flaunt those legs now. The mini skirt also doesn’t have to be tucked away in your closet the whole season; wearing tights or leggings underneath can keep your legs warm for the early cool mornings. Mini skirts are fun and can be worn in so many different ways. At FASHOM, our Wild Honey Lurex Snake Mini Skirt is the perfect choice to follow up with this trend.

Pregnancy Looks for the In-Between Stages

on April 8, 2019

Your baby bump is starting to peak through! Pregnancy is such an exciting experience to share with your loved ones and it’s so thrilling to welcome a new little one into the world. However, your clothing is beginning to become a little snug and too tight to fit into. The next question is: how do I find my style for my in-between stages? Maternity options could be tricky because when you’ve reached the middle stages of pregnancy, some options end up being too big or too small. It all depends where you shop. Here are some styles that help for those not sure what to wear during their in-between stages of pregnancy.

1. Leggings

LEGGINGS! Perfect for lounge wear and lazy days. They’re simple and easy to style by dressing up or down – depending on your mood. Leggings are perfect for everybody, especially with a baby bump showing through. They stretch and mold perfectly to the shape of your body. They aren’t stiff like jeans but not too casual like yoga pants (although we do suggest yoga pants 100%). These are great for running errands and there is plenty of room to grow in them. There are smart leggings which look like work trousers, so basically leggings are a win-win.

2. Flowy Dresses

You need breathable clothing. Flowy dresses creates an illusion of hiding that baby bump while at the same time keeps you comfortable with room to breathe. These help you not look as pregnant as you really are. Dresses with either no waistbands or stretchy fabric helps you move freely when you’re on the go. They keep you and your little baby happy when you have no fabric squeezing your tummy. Flowy dresses come in all different types of styles and fabrics – such as cotton, linen, polyester, etc. – so you have so many options to choose from.

3. Kimonos

Kimonos are super bohemian and have been in-style for a while. Just like flowy dresses, these give you room to breathe without getting in the way of your daily tasks; and you look cute while doing them.  Kimonos are aerated and can be wrapped around your midsection or hung off to the sides from a draped and loose fitted appeal. These are so easy to handle while you are pregnant because they are long enough to cover your belly and leaves you room to keep growing.

4. Non-Lined Bralettes

No one talks about this too much, and I think we should address it. Finding the right pregnancy apparel doesn’t have to do with just outerwear. Bras are the most difficult transition because when you’re reaching your second and third trimester, lined and wired bras become so uncomfortable. Bralettes or unlined bras are super great to alleviate the soreness and stiffness you would feel with lined or wired bras. They’re also super cute! Most are laced and dainty, so they are very delicate on the body. These are so much nicer to wear.

5. Or, show off that bump!

There are no wrong turns showing off that bump. We’re aiming for comfortability and if you don’t have any of the symptoms related to the clothing up above, then wear the look that makes you happy. Tightened dresses, secured skirts, and bathing suits will definitely accentuate the curvy baby belly. Be proud of being a new mama, it’s exciting and thrilling all at the same time!

A Fashom Rainy Day Look

on March 29, 2019

a82f37334423fd3ed35449eb599c520d

It seems like many people don’t talk about what to wear on rainy days. Mostly because on rainy days, people choose to stay indoors (we don’t blame you). On separate occasions, some people have to venture out into the weather and run some errands, start the day at work, or celebrate a birthday party. While the rain is tricky to style around with, we have some solutions here at Fashom that will hopefully better your style on a mucky and gloomy day like so. April is approaching, and as we all know, it is prone to being the rainiest month. Let’s kick off our rainy day essentials to keep you stylish and dry. Photo  credit to @dresscoralynn above.

1. Striped Shirt

The simple striped shirt can never steer you in the wrong direction when it comes to casual wear in the rain. It’s the type of shirt that becomes your best friend when situations like this occur; it can get damaged, ripped, or drenched in the downpour, but it’ll always be the perfect choice for when it comes to rainy days. On top of all of this, it is super casual, fashionable and can literally go with any outfit. The casual striped shirt can never do you wrong. We have very similar picks at Fashom such as our Natural Life Striped Hi Lo Sweater or V-Neck Sweater and our Skies are Blue Striped Knit Top.

2. Vests Upon Vests

With your accessorized umbrella of course, vests are the best way to keep dry during the rainy seasons. April is a month of on and off downpours, and with vests you can look cute and fashionable as well as keep yourself warm and dry. Vests allow you to layer your outfit with a sweater, hoodie, or long sleeve tee underneath to create the ultimate rain shield. We have similar styles at Fashom such as our Skies are Blue Soft Corduroy Vest, which is also filled with cute polka dots all over!

3. Bomber/Rain Jacket

Instead of the bland and boring raincoats, try a bomber styled jacket with wick protection from the rain. These jackets are almost considered raincoats because when water hits them, it wicks right off. The silhouette is super flattering to any body type because with the jaw string waist, it can give a curvature to the look. Put on your favorite rain boots and strut in the rain with this stylish pick. We have very similar outerwear at Fashom such as our Staccato Draw String Utility Coat and our Fate Drape Parka Coat.

4. Signature Boots

Every fashion wearer needs a pair of nice rain boots. Firm fitted boots keep you looking sleek and chic in the rain. The signature red rain boots help keep your rain day ‘fit colorful and bold. If you want to stay fashionable while you have to run out in the rain, slim fitted and bright red rain boots are the way to go. A most recent trend are ankle length rain boots, which are also super stylish. This trend has surpassed throughout major cities such as New York, Philly, and Boston; and they’re super cute. They produce the illusion on booties so you can also pair these with an every day outfit.

5. Sleek Black Pants

So we have the rain boots,  a rain jacket, vests, and shirt, now it’s time to talk pants. The simplest way to finish your rainy day outfit is to add a pair of sleek black pants. Black is the easiest to tame when it rains because droplets are hidden in the material (if you spill something on you too, it’s not as noticeable as opposed to denim and brighter colors). Black pants are easy to deal with when it rains. We have some nice black pants at FASHOM such as our RD Style Black Leggings and our Faux Leather Panel Leggings. Easy to tame and stylish at the same time.
